PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)
Prepared from your own blood
PRP is prepared by drawing a sample of your blood and processing it to separate a plasma fraction with a higher concentration of platelets than whole blood. The prepared PRP is then used during the same visit.
Depending on the treatment area and clinical plan, PRP may be applied with microneedling or delivered by injection or cannula. Potential uses discussed at Lilac may include selected facial skin concerns, the appearance of certain scars, and hair thinning. Evidence and expected outcomes vary by indication, and results are not guaranteed.
PRP preparation systems may be FDA cleared for preparing PRP, but that does not mean PRP is FDA approved as a drug treatment for facial rejuvenation, hair restoration, scars, or other cosmetic outcomes. Your provider will explain the proposed use, alternatives, potential risks, and expected course before treatment.
